The Croatian Photographic Union has been the coordinator and main stakeholder for the

International Heritage Photographic Experience, in cooperation with the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Croatia since 1998.

We have been continuously preparing a series of activities for children and youths. From the very beginning the theme of this project has been taken very broadly in order to encourage youths to contemplate all elements of cultural and natural heritage, including traditional customs, old skills and trades, as well as everything that could be considered joint heritage in a broader international context.

Photo collections are created by choosing from a vast number of photographs taken at the Croatian Photographic Union’s workshops for the young, as well as through an equal opportunity competition open to all young photographers.

We hope that this year’s collection of photographs will inspire others to form an active relationship with heritage, an exchange and acceptance of diversity as a source of new wealth, friendship and cooperation.
