Baureihenbezeichnungen Type designations1

• Die Umstellerbaureihen PDR-1, PDR-2 und PDR-3 werden je nach Type (bis 36kV und 63A) in Verteiltransformatoren in Ein-, Zwei- und Drei-phasenanwendungen eingesetzt.

• Die Umsteller dürfen stets nur im Leerlauf ge-schalten werden.

• Je nach technischer Anforderung stehen Halterungen in verschiedenen Längen zur Auswahl: 50, 70, 100 und 130mm (Distanz Trafodeckel zu Mitte Kupferrohre)

• Die Materialien der einzelnen Bauteile wurden so ausgewählt, dass die Umsteller in Mineral- wie auch Silikonöl eingesetzt werden können.

• Die Fixkontakte sind aus Kupfer (Cu-ETP nach DIN EN 13601) gefertigt. Die Durchmesser abhän-gig von der geforderten Stromstärke finden Sie in der Tabelle auf Seite 7.

• The tap changer series PDR-1, PDR-2 and PDR-3 are used depending on the type (up to 36kV and 63A) in distribution transformers in one-, two- and three-phase application.

• The tap changers may only be swiched in a no-load condition.

• Depending on the technical requirements there are holders in different lengths available: 50, 70, 100 and 130mm (Distance between the tank cover and the centre of the copper tubes).

• The materials for each single component are selected in such a way that the tap changer can be operated in mineral- as well as silicone oil.

• The fixed contacts are made of copper (Cu-ETP acc. to DIN EN 13601). The diameters depending on the required current are shown in the table at page 7.

• Als Material für die Fixkontaktträger wird aus Isolationszwecken ein Phenol-Hartpapier der Type PFCP 202 nach EN 60893 (ehemals HP 2061.5 nach DIN 7735) eingesetzt.

• Die beweglichen Kontakte sind aus dem Material CuZn40Pb2 nach DIN EN 12164 gefertigt.

• Der der Umwelt ausgesetzte Umstellerknopf ist bei den Baureihen PDR-1 und PDR-3 aus einem hochwertigen Kunststoff (PA6.6) ausgeführt. Bei der Baureihe PDR-2 besteht der Umstellerknopf aus Aluminium.

• The material used for the bar holding the fixed contacts is a paper phenol/resin based laminate type PFCP 202 acc. to EN 60893 (formerly known as HP 2061.5 acc. to DIN 7735 ). This is used for insulation purposes.

• The movable contacts are made of the material CuZn40Pb2 acc. to DIN EN 12164.

• The tap changer knobs of the series PDR-1 and PDR-3 exposed to the environment are made of high class plastic (modified PA6.6). At the series PDR-2 the tap changer knob is produced by the use of Aluminium.

Ein wesentlicher Vorteil der Umsteller von Preis dM liegt in der einfachen und zeitsparenden Montage. Der Umsteller besteht aus nur noch 5 Einzelteilen.

• Der Hauptteil mit eingebauter Schaltwelle wird durch das 21mm Loch im Transformatordeckel von innen nach außen gesteckt.

• Die Fixierung erfolgt über eine Sechskant-mutter (Schlüsselweite 27) und einem Gegenstück aus witterungsbeständigem Polyamid.

• Ein Abdichten erzielt man durch einen O-Ring (Abmessung: Id. 18,64x3,53mm), der vor dem Ge-genstück aufgesetzt wird. Zum Abschluss wird noch der Drehknopf auf die Schaltwelle aufgesteckt und auf das Gegenstück aufgeschoben bis der Kopf einrastet, was durch ein „Klick“ akustisch vernommen werden kann.

A major advantage of the tap changers produced by Preis dM lies in the simple and timesaving assembly. The tap changer consists of only 5 parts.

• The main component with integrated switching arbour has to be inserted in the tank cover hole with a diameter 21 mm from the inside to the outside.

• The fixing is done by a hexagon nut (wrench size 27) and a counterpart made of a weather-proof Polyamid.

• The sealing is guaranteed by an O-ring (size: Id.18, 64 x3,53 mm) which has to be positioned below the counterpart. Finally the knob has to be put on the switching arbour and slid over the counterpart till the knob clicks into place. This click will be noticed audibly.

• Die Bedienung erfolgt einfach durch das Drehen des Drehkopfes bis zur gewünschten Position, was durch ein Einrasten und ein akustisches „Klick“ vernommen wird. Der Pfeil auf dem Gegenstück muss mit der Zahl auf dem Umstellerknopf in einer Linie sein. Zusätzlich muss der Zapfen nach oben geschoben werden, wodurch dieser in das Loch des Umstellerkopfes eindringt und so eine weitere Verdrehung unmöglich macht.

• Um eine unberechtigte Betätigung zu verhin-dern, besteht die Möglichkeit diesen Zapfen in der oberen Position abzusperren.

• Falls jedoch verhindert werden soll, dass der Umstellerkopf abgehoben und die Position geän-dert werden kann, muss der Zapfen in die untere Position bewegt und das Schloss durch das Loch im Umstellerkopf sowie jenes im roten Gegenstück geführt werden.

• The handling takes place by turning the knob into the requested position, which can be recognized by a noticeable and audible click. The painted arrow on the counter part has to be in line with the requested number on the plastic knob. Additionally the black tappet has to be moved to the top position, whereby it enters into a hole in the tap changer body and renders a further movement impossible.

• In order to protect the tap changer against an unauthorized operation, there exists the possibility to lock the tappet in the upper position.

• If you want to avoid that the tap changer knob is lifted and that the position will be changed the lock has to be put through the hole in the tap changer knob as well as the hole in the red counterpart. In that case the tapped has to remain in the lower position.

• Die Baureihen PDR-2 und PDR-3 sind bereits langjährig am Markt bewährte Konstruktionen. Im Gegensatz zu den Baureihe PDR-1 und PDR-3 gibt es mit PDR-2 eine Alternative, wenn auf Kundenwunsch die der Umwelt ausgesetzten Teile aus Aluminium anstelle von Kunststoff ausgeführt sein sollen.

• Die Montage ist im Vergleich zu der PDR-1 Ausführung zwar zeitintensiver, jedoch trotzdem sehr einfach. Der Hauptteil mit eingebauter Schaltwelle wird durch das 21mm Loch im Transformatordeckel von innen nach außen gesteckt. Fixiert wird der Umsteller auch hier über eine Sechskantmutter (Schlüsselweite 27) und einem Gegenstück aus Stahl.

• Die Abdichtung erfolgt durch einen O-Ring (Abmessung: Id. 18,64x3,53mm) der vor dem Gegenstück und dem Positionierteil aufgesetzt wird.

• The series PDR-2 and PDR-3 have already been an established design on the market for many years. As opposed with the series PDR-1 and PDR-3 there is with PDR-2 an alternative, if according to customer´s requirement the parts exposed to the environment have to be in Aluminium instead of plastic.

• The mounting is more time-consuming in comparison to PDR-1, but still very simple. The main component with integrated switching arbour has to be inserted in the tank cover hole with a diameter of 21 mm from the inside to the outside. The fixing of the tap changer is made by a hexagon nut (wrench size 27) and a counterpart made of steel.

• Die Bedienung erfolgt einfach durch das Hoch-ziehen und Drehen des Drehkopfes bis zur ge-wünschten Position. Bei Loslassen des Drehknop-fes bewegt sich diese wieder in die untere Position zurück. Der untere Zapfen des Positionierstücks muss sich in einer der Aussparungen des Dreh-knopfes befinden. Eine unbeabsichtigte Betäti-gung des Umstellers ohne Hochziehen des Dreh-knopfes ist nicht möglich.

• Um eine unberechtigte Betätigung zu ver-hindern, besteht die Möglichkeit den Um-stellerkopf abzusperren. Die Bügelstärke des Absperrschlosses soll 5mm messen.

• The operation takes place by lifting and turning the knob into the required position. If you unhand the knob, it will move back into the lower position. The tapped of the positioning part has to be in one the notches of the knob. Inadvertent movement of the knob without lifting the knob is impossible.

• In order to protect the tap changer against an unauthorized operation, there exists the possibility to lock the knob. The shackle thickness of the padlock should be 5mm.

• Danach wird der Umstellerkopf sowie die Feder auf der Schaltwelle positioniert. Zum Abschluss die Abdeckung zwecks Vorspannung der Feder auf die Schaltwelle aufsetzen und um 90° verdrehen (Type PDR-2) bzw. aufzuschrauben (Type PDR-3). Den Ausgleich der Deckelstärke erreicht man durch die mitgelieferten Stahlscheiben.

• Afterwards the knob as well as the spring have to be fit on the switching arbour. Finally the co-ver has to be put on the shaft and turned (90°, type PDR-2) or screwed on (type PDR-3) in order to achieve a preload of the spring. The compensa-tion of the cover thickness will be done with steel washers.

Die Umstellerbaureihe PDR wurde gemäß IEC EN 60214-1 vom akkreditierten Prüflabor CESI erfolgreich folgenden Prüfungen unterzogen:

• Messung der Kontaktübertemperatur• Prüfung mit Kurzzeitstrom• Prüfung des Isolationspegels - gegen Erde- zwischen den Phasen- zwischen zwei benachbarten Kontakten- Blitzstoßspannungsprüfung

Jeder fertig gestellte Umsteller wird gemäß IEC EN 60214-1 Punkt 7.3.1 mechanisch geprüft.

The tap changer series PDR was successfully tested according to IEC EN 60214-1 by the accredited testing laboratory CESI with the following tests:

• Temperature rise test of contacts • Short circuit current test • Separate source AC withstand voltage test - against earth- between the phases- between two close-by contacts- lightning impulse test

Each produced tap changer is mechanically tested according to EN 60214-1 Point 7.3.1.

• The tap changer series PDZ is used depending on the type (up to 36kV and 120A) in distribution transformers in one-, two- and three-phase application.

• The tap changers may only be switched in a no-load condition.

• The distance between the tank cover and the centre of the copper tubes is freely selectable by the customer. This measurement has to be stated in the inquiry or order.

• The materials for each single component are selected in such a way that the tap changer can be operated in mineral- as well as silicone oil.

• Der der Umwelt ausgesetzte Umstellerknopf ist standardmäßig aus wetterbeständigem Aluminium ausgeführt. Auf Wunsch kann dieser auch anodisiert geliefert werden.

• The material used for the bar holding the fixed contacts is a paper phenol/resin based laminate type PFCP 202 acc. to EN 60893 (formerly known as HP 2061.5 acc. to DIN 7735 ). This is used for insulation purposes.


• The tap changer knobs exposed to the environ-ment are made of Aluminium. On special request this part can be also supplied anodized.

• Die Type PDZ wurde unter dem Gesichtspunkt einer Ausführung mit variablen Abständen zum Transformatorendeckel konstruiert.

• Zu Beginn muss in den Transformatordeckel ein Loch mit d26mm gebohrt, das Anschweißteil eingesteckt und danach verschweißt werden. Die weiteren Schritte sind die Spindel mit dem Hauptteil von unten einzuführen und den Umsteller im Transformator mittels den Bohrungen am Trägerteil zu befestigen.

• Von außen wird der O-Ring eingesetzt und die Positionsscheibe mit dem Anschweißteil verschraubt. Als letzter Arbeitsschritt wird der Drehknopf auf-gesetzt und mittels einer Wurmschraube gesichert.

• Die Bedienung erfolgt einfach durch das Anheben und Drehen des Drehknopfes in die gewünschte Position. Ein Verdrehschutz ist dann gegeben, wenn sich die Nase des Drehknopfes wieder in der unteren Position in einer der Ausnehmungen der Positionierscheibe befindet.

• The design of our PDZ-types have been carried out from the perspective of offering variable distances to the transformer cover.

• In the beginning a hole with d26mm must be drilled in the transformer cover. The welding part has to be positioned in this hole and welded on the cover. Afterwards the spindle of the switching arbour has to be inserted from bottom up and the tap changer to be fixed to the holes in the support part.

• From outside the O-ring has to be put on the spindle, the positioning washer screwed on the welding part and the knob fixed by a grub screw.

• The operation takes place by lifting and turning the knob into the requested position. A rotation protection is secured when the nose of the knob is again in the lower position in one of the recesses of the positioning washer.

• Der der Umwelt ausgesetzte Umstellerknopf ist standardmäßig aus wetterbeständigem Alumini-um ausgeführt. Auf Wunsch kann dieser auch ano-disiert geliefert werden.

• The material used for the bar holding the fixed contacts is a paper phenol/resin based laminate type PFCP 202 acc. to EN 60893 (formerly known as HP 2061.5 acc. to DIN 7735). This is used for insulation purposes.


• The tap changer knobs exposed to the environ-ment are made of Aluminium. On special request this part can be also supplied anodized.

• Die Umstellerbaureihe PDM wird je nach Type (bis 36kV und 120A) in Verteiltransformatoren in Ein-, Zwei- und Dreiphasenanwendungen eingesetzt.

• Die Umsteller dürfen stets nur im Leerlauf geschalten werden.

• Je nach technischer Anforderung stehen Hal-terungen in verschiedenen Längen zur Auswahl: 91 und 131mm (Distanz Trafodeckel zur Mitte Kup-ferrohre).

• Die Antriebswelle kann entweder in der Mitte oder an einem Ende des Umstellers angebracht werden.


• Die Fixkontakte sind aus Kupfer (Cu-ETP nach DIN EN 13601) gefertigt. Die Durchmesser abhängig von der geforderten Stromstärke finden Sie in der Tabelle auf Seite 47.

• The tap changer series PDM is used depending at the type (up to 36kV and 120A) in distribution transformers in one-, two- and three-phase appli-cation.

• The tap changers may only be switched in a no-load condition.

• Depending on the technical requirements there are holders in different lengths available: 91 and 131mm (Distance between the tank cover and the centre of the copper tubes).

• The driveshaft can be positioned in the middle or at one end of the tap changer.

• The materials for each single component are selected in that way so that the tap changer can be operated in Mineral- as well as Silicone oil.

• Die Baureihe PDM beruht auf dem Konstruk-tionsprinzip der Type PDR-2. Der Abstand zum Transformatordeckel ist fix vorgegeben. Der Transformatordeckel muss eine Bohrung d27mm aufweisen.

• Die Schaltwelle mit dem Hauptteil wird von in-nen nach außen durchgesteckt. Die Dichtung so-wie die einzelnen Scheiben werden entsprechend der darüber angeführten Explosionszeichnung aufgesetzt. Zuletzt erfolgt die Fixierung des Dreh-knopfes mittels einer Sechskantschraube auf der Spindel.

• Die Bedienung erfolgt einfach durch das Anheben und Drehen des Drehknopfes in die gewüschte Position. Ein Verdrehschutz ist dann gegeben, wenn sich die Nase der Positionierscheibe wieder in der unteren Position in einer der Ausnehmungen des Drehknopfes befindet.

• The design of our PDM types has been carried out based on the type PDR-2. The distance to the transformer cover is fixed. In the beginning there has to be hole drilled with d27mm in the transformer cover.

• The spindle of the switching arbour has to be inserted from bottom up. From the outside the O-ring as well as washers, counter part and the po-sitioning part have to be put on the spindle accor-ding to the explosion drawing above. The knob has to be fixed by a grub screw.

• The operation takes place by lifting and turning the knob into the requested position. A rotation protection is secured when the nose of the positi-oning washer is again in the lower position in one of the recesses of the knob.
