• Highlighting duties instead of achievements

• Exaggerating titles and responsibilities

• Being vague („seeking challenging position that offers professional growth“)

(savings, sales, percentages, satisfaction, etc.)

5. Success Factor: Interview Follow Up

• Always send a short, follow-up ‘Thank You’ note to your interviewer on the same day as the interview took place.

• “Dear Thomas, thanks for chatting with me on Monday about the Sales position at Oracle. It was great to meet you, and the position sounds very close to my background and interests. I’m looking forward to the next conversation. If you need any more information, please let me know…”
