ROLEC Prozess- und Brautechnik GmbH Dear Sir, we would like to give you a brief introduction of our company. ROLEC Prozess- und Brautechnik GmbH was founded in July 2003. The company’s field of activities are in the planning, construction, delivery and installation of turn key plants for the beverage industry, mainly brewing and non alcoholic beverage plants. Company founders are Wolfgang Roth and Karl Lechner. Both have been in the industry for many years and possess extensive experience and KNOW-HOW. Mr. Roth has been working as sales director for a leading fabricator of brewing and beverage equipment for more than 12 years. He has been working with Heineken in Holland, Brahma in Brazil, Baltika in Russia, Carlsberg in Denmark and Hofbräuhaus in Germany, to name only some of the industry leaders in the brewing industry. For the beverage industry, Mr. Roth has been working with Lotte Chilsung, Korea, Coca Cola Germany and Turkey, and some regional German soft drink producers. Prior to his activities in the equipment industry, Mr. Roth has engineered and started a brewery in the USA and was hired to operate the brewery and train local staff for seven years. Mr. Lechner has also been working in the brewing and beverage construction industry for 15 years. He has been Technical Director for one of the leading suppliers of brewing and beverage equipment. Mr. Lechner has also gained international experience and has been building and operating a brewery in North Carolina, USA.

We have a solid fabrication behind us with extensive experience in the construction of brewing, soft drink, dairy and pharmacy equipment. Tanks and vessels up to 4000 hl total volume (105.820 Gal.) can and have been built here.

Modern automated systems are more and more replacing manual and labour intensive production facilities. Knowing the importance of service and quick response, we have built a strategic alliance with an automation company in Munich, the a-on AG. A-on owns all rights for the automation system beraBREW, which is operating in many German mid sized breweries as well as in other beverage and food processing industries. A-on has done automated brewing systems in many countries, including the US. Local requirements and codes are known and will be met for installations.

PUB AND MICRO BREWING SYSTEMS There is a real market for our pub brewery products as well as the services we offer. Our service can reach from taking full responsibility for system design and installation, interior restaurant and bar design as well as possibly bringing in a famous beer brand for licensing if requested.

TURN KEY BREWERIES AND BREW HOUSE PLANTS Our main business activities are complete turn key breweries for the production of bottled, canned or draught beer. We work world wide, including complete engineering, installation and taking into operation. Our services include technical as well as technological support and consulting. The latest turnkey projects include the following: We have engineered and built the equipment for GPS’s new brewery in Benin, West Africa. The starting capacity of the plant is 75.000 hl per year, equal to 7,5 million litres per year. The system is designed to brew up to 240.000 hl by addition of two more brewing vessels and fermentation and lagering capacity. ROLEC Prozess- und Brautechnik GmbH was contracted to do a Greenfield project. Our delivery volume starts with malt handling and ends with the packaged product in bottles. The rapidly growing Victory Brewing Company in Downingtown, Pennsylvania, USA, has chosen ROLEC Prozess- und Brautechnik to be the supplier for their new 5-vessel brew house, wort treatment, yeast propagation, all cold and hot water, energy recovery system, CIP-systems and new 360 hl fermenting tanks. The entire delivery volume is automated by the beraBREW automation system. The first brew was accomplished in only seven month after the contract was coming into force. The short time for building, shipping and installing was achievable because of our pre-piping in our factory.

The new brew house of the Stone Brewing Company, San Marcos, USA was taken into op-eration 10 month after finalizing the contract. The scope of ROLEC’s delivery volume included a used, reconditioned 5-roller malt mill, a three vessel brew house, 156 hl cast out and 4,5 tons grist charge at the reference brew, consisting of mash kettle, lauter tun and wort kettle with external wort boiling system. The de-livery volume included further the whirlpool, wort cooling and aeration, automated hop trub clean out with trub tank, 300 hl hot water tank, 190 hl cold water tank and a 2-circuit CIP-system for brew house and cellar. All of the ROLEC delivery volume is automated by a BRAUMAT system.

Expanding the capacity of the Magic Hat Brewing Company in South Burlington, VT, USA by installing a new brew house with 160 hl hot cast out. The scope of ROLEC’s delivery volume starts with grain removal from existing silos, milling, three vessel brew house, 160 hl cast out, consisting of mash kettle, lauter tun with 5500 mm diameter and 4,5 tons grist charge at the reference brew and wort kettle with external wort boiling system. The delivery volume included further the whirlpool, wort cooling and aeration, automated hop trub clean out with trub tank, 300 hl hot water tank, 3-vessel CIP-system for brew house and cellar. All of the ROLEC delivery volume is automated by a BRAUMAT PCS7 system.

Outdoor tanks as installed at the Firestone Walker Brewing Company in Paso Robles, California, US. The tanks are designed to hold 500 bbl net according 665 bbl total content which is equivalent to 780 hl or 78.000 litres. The tanks are designed to meet seismic 4 earth quack zone.

Working area within the tank cone, no extra building is needed for that tank design.

RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT / PILOT SYSTEMS PALL CORPORATION is the leading producer of filter systems. For its subdivision, Pall SeitzSchenk in Germany, we developed and installed a research and development plant. The system is used for intensive product studies and development of new filtration technologies based on the research results. The system therefore is an important tool for Pall SeitzSchenk in it’s striving to perfect all filtration applications and other fluid handling chal-lenges. The system is designed to handle extremely viscose media of 2000 mPas. The proc-ess tanks are equipped with special hygienic stirrers and mixers and are built for pressure operation of 3 barü. All tanks are heated by a variable temperature hot water heating circuit and can be cooled by a separate heat transfer plate which is supplied ice water by an ice bank and storage system.

NON ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGE INDUSTRY ROLEC Prozess- und Brautechnik GmbH is also supplier to the beverage industry, planning and delivering plants and components for the production of mineral water and other beverages. The key elements of the syrup rooms are ROLEC products. One of the components used commonly in the beverage and juice production are sugar dissolving units. They work either as continuously working systems or as batch production systems. The continuously working systems can be delivered with capacities starting at 2500 l/h up to 20.000 l/h and various degrees Brix, generally around 60 °Brix to 65 °Brix. The syrup capacity of such systems can range from 3275 kg/h to 26.382 kg/h at 65 °Brix.

FOOD INDUSTRY Outside the beverage industry, we engineer and fabricate custom made systems, tailored to the specific need of our clients. One of our show case installations has been engineered for

“Europe’s most modern herbs factory”,

the MOGUNTIA plant in Kirchbichl, Austria. The system has gone in operation in September 2003.
