NOAs neues musikalisches Projekt heisst ›Letters to Bach‹ und wurde von Quincy Jones produziert.
Noas Stimme erhebt sich majestätisch und vereint sich spielerisch mit den Klängen von Gils Gitarre.
Produktinfo: Es handelt sich um 12 Instrumentalstücke von Johann Sebastian Bach, zu denen Noa Texte auf Englisch und
Hebräisch geschrieben hat.
Es geht dabei um so unterschiedliche Themen wie Technologie und Religion, Klimawandel und
Feminismus, Euthanasie, den Israelisch –Palästinensischen Konflikt und Beziehungen im Zeitalter der
›social media‹. Die Arrangements für Gitarre kommen von Noas langjährigem musikalischen Wegbegleiter Gil
Dor, bekannt als Gitarrist, Komponist, Arrangeur und Musikprofessor. Die Auftritte des Duos sind ebenso
überraschend wie brilliant –Noas Stimme erhebt sich majestätisch und vereint sich spielerisch mit den Klängen von Gils
Gitarre.
So stellen sie Bachs brilliante Polyphonie ins Scheinwerferlicht. Noa und Gil bringen das vielschichtigen Original-

Die Geschichte von BLACK LUNG ist schwer zu erzählen, ohne die einer anderen Band zu erwähnen. Beginnen wir also bei
Baltimore’s Best: THE FLYING EYES. Eine Band, die von ihren Fans getragen und live gefeiert wurde. Nach hunderten Shows und
einer Hand voll Alben musste THE FLYING EYES 2014 erstmal ruhen, um nicht zu implodieren.
2014, ein Rekordwinter in Baltimore mit Tiefsttemperaturen und meterhohen Schneewehen zwang Elias Schutzmann (dr) und Adam
Bufano (git) schnell wieder in den Proberaum. Man hatte ungewohnt viel Zeit, steckte voller Ideen und musikalischer Energie. Mit Dave
Cavalier (voc/git) fanden sie das fehlende Glied, um Neues zu schaffen – Etwas, dass sich schnell besonders und anders anfühlte:

Zwei Gitarren, runtergestimmt und schwer. Ein Bass ist hier unnötig. Es groovt, rollt und es entstehen Songs, die zwischen dem rohen
Blues-Rock der BLACK KEYS und den ehrwürdigen Riffs von SLEEP pendeln. Trotz aller Schwere bleibt die Produktion transparent.
Psychedelische Gitarrenwände, noisy flirrende Gitarrensounds, heavy Riffs und gleichzeitig eine Leichtigkeit und schwebende
Melodien.
Das Debüt war eine große Überraschung und festigte die Band als solche. Sie nabelte sich vom “Mutterschiff” ab und schob mit “See
The Enemy” (2016) ein großes Album hinterher.

record is of a certain quality then facts and figures are irrelevant - all we’re interested in is shining a
spotlight on music that has stood the test of time and continues to impress. Bite The Bullet are hardly a
household name but to a select few who heard their one and only album they are one of the most
invigorating and accomplished melodic rock bands of the era. Formed by Mick Benton who had already
had some degree of experience as a member of obscure NWOBHM related rock band Mother’s Ruin
and a subsequent solo deal with Atlantic Records, that produced a well-received EP. The seeds of Bite
The Bullet came together in 1986, their demos attracting the attention of industry Don ‘Mr Big’ Arden, the
notorious owner of Jet records, home to ELO and Ozzy Osbourne, who subsequently signed them and
financed their lone album. Sadly, by the late 80s, though, the label had contracted to the point where it
was no longer a powerhouse. Originally issued in 1989 and recorded in London, the record oozed class
and sophistication, conjuring up immediate comparisons to other dynamic UK melodic rock outfits such
as FM, Strangeways and Dare. Tracks such as ‘Change Of Heart’, ‘Edge Of The Rain’ and ‘Finished
With Love’ showcase a band in full command of both their style and direction; a sound that could’ve
been made for the American airwaves.

Die beiden Hochkaräter im Katalog von BLACK ALICE endlich auf (Doppel)Vinyl vereint
Produktinfo: Endangered Species: Perth in Westaustralien ist und war sicherlich kein Platz, an dem man nach Heavy Metal suchen würde, aber so hatte BLACK ALICE 1982 ein gewisses Alleinstellungsmerkmal. Bei Hard Rock oder Heavy Metal aus Australien wartet man normalerweise darauf, mehr oder weniger gute AC/DC-Kopien zu hören. Bei BLACK ALICE können lediglich beim Gesang gewissen Parallelen ausgemacht werden, die Songs gingen klar in eine andere Richtung. Europäische Einflüsse, wie auf dem tollen Song "Wings of steel" sind genauso auszumachen wie epische Momente bei "In the hall of the Ancient Kings", die MANOWAR kaum besser hätten machen können. Es gibt einen Ohrwurm nach dem anderen zu entdecken. Für mich gilt "Endangered species" als eines der fünf besten Alben, die jemals aus Australien kamen. Sons Of Steel:
"Sons of Steel" ist sicher nicht das Album, was man 1988 von BLACK ALICE erwartet hätte. Immer noch war der Heavy Metal in seiner
Hochphase und die Band erschuf -ja, nennen wir es ruhig so- ein Rock Musical. Toll gemacht, keine Frage, ist und war "Sons of Steel"
aber sicherlich nicht für jeden Heavy Metal-Fan geeignet, da die meisten Songs mit Heavy Metal nichts mehr zu tun hatten und für
Rock- und Hard Rock-Fans konzipiert waren.

BLITZKRIEG “Ten Years of Blitzkrieg” WM 08
Blitzkrieg wurden Ende 1980 aus der Asche einer Formation namens Split Image in Leicester geboren, als Sänger Brian Ross am Mikro Sarah Aldwinckle ersetzte und sich mit Jim Sieroto (Gitarre), Ian Jones (Gitarre), Steve English (Bass) sowie Steve Abbey (Drums) zusammentat. Flugs hatte man einen Deal mit David Woods Neat Records unterschrieben. Die legendäre Debüt-Single »Buried Alive« (mit “Blitzkrieg” auf der B-Seite) wurde im Februar 1981 in den Impulse Studios aufgenommen (und von Mick Sweeney produziert). Am 19. Mai desselben Jahres erschien die 7” mit der Katalognummer NEAT 10 und avancierte recht schnell zum gesuchten Sammlerstück.
Da Brian Ross indes wenig später zu Satan wechselte, lösten sich die originalen Blitzkrieg Ende 1981 bereits wieder auf. Ohne eine LP eingespielt zu haben. Als »A Time Of Changes« dann im Jahre 1985 posthum erschien, war der Zug der NWOBHM bereits abgefahren. Amerikanische Gruppen wie Exodus, Megadeth, Metallica und Slayer dominierten die internationale Metal-Szene. Im Jahre 1991 reformierte sich die NWOBHM-Legende Blitzkrieg in der Besetzung Brian Ross (Gesang), Glenn S. Howes (Gitarre), Tony J. Liddle (Gitarre), Glen Carey (Bass) und Gary Young (Schlagzeug). Man buchte das lokale Impulse Studio in Newcastle upon Tyne, um unter der Regie von Keith Nichol die beiden Stücke der Debüt-Single, “Blitzkrieg” und “Buried Alive”, noch einmal neu aufzunehmen. Dazu kamen drei brandneue Kompositionen: “Night Howl”, “The Sentinel” sowie “Nocturnal Vision”. Das niederländische Roadrunner-Label veröffentlichte im Jahre 1991 alle fünf Stücke in Form einer Mini-LP unter dem Titel »Ten Years Of Blitzkrieg«. »Ten Years Of Blitzkrieg« war seit über zwei Dekaden weder als Vinyl noch als CD erhältlich. Die vorliegende Wiederveröffentlichung von High Roller Records kommt als strikt limitierte Picture-Disc-Edition.

rarely seen photos and new interview - THIS WAS Riot’s 4th album. It followed a period of intense
activity both physical and emotional, having survived a series of knockbacks over the years that would
have decimated lesser contenders. The fact that they had recently survived several line-up changes, an
underfunded UK tour supporting Sammy Hagar and bagged a spot on the 1st Monsters Of Rock festival
was a minor miracle. With interest building amongst grass roots fans the future was actually beginning to
look bright. That was until frontman Guy Speranza made a decision to leave the band. Fatigued by years
of touring and (literally) banging his head against a brick wall, he moved aside for Rhett Forester, a man
seen as a golden ticket to bigger and better things. Now signed to Elektra Records, the band once again
retreated to their management’s downtown New York studio to craft ‘Restless Breed’, a record that
although well received in their circles, edged the band slightly towards the centre ground. It was less the
full-on NWOBHM - inspired frenetic energy of their previous records and more disposed towards power
metal. Still led by guitarist Mark Reale, this record was in many respects hamstrung by a new label who
really didn’t know how to market their kind of act. Previous releases had benefitted from the band’s
resourceful managers and an ability to connect with an underground fan base, but this time around they
were left constrained by a label that refused to support them on tour that were dropping the promotional
ball at every turn. Still, hats off to the band for crafting another album that still impresses to this day.

For fans of Survivor & classic rock - Grammy award winning vocalist Dave Bickler is about to release his first ever solo record “Darklight”. A collection of songs very personal to Dave and including a backing band consisting of drummer Ryan Hoyle (Collective Soul, Paul Rodgers), bassist Brad Smith (Blind Melon), and guitarist Stephen DeAcutis (Corey Glover, Appice Brothers). Dave Bickler started his musical career as lead singer of 1970s rock group Jamestown Massacre (Billboard Top 100 song "Summer Sun") but is best known as the vocalist for the Grammy Award winning rock band Survivor singing on their massive #1 hit “Eye of the Tiger”. The song went on to be one of the most downloaded songs and propelled Dave’s career when Sylvester Stallone wanted the song featured in the 1982 blockbuster movie Rocky III. The song won Dave a Grammy Award for Best Rock Performance by A Duo or Group with Vocal. It was voted "Best New Song" by the People's Choice Awards, received an Academy Award nomination, came in at #18 on the “Top 100 Singles” chart in Billboard's 100th Anniversary issue. From 1999-2009, Dave was the singing voice behind the highly successful (most award-winning radio campaign in advertising history!) 'Real Men of Genius' Bud Light radio and TV commercials, including promotional events where he sang live spots and the National Anthem at major sporting events across the country. “Darklight” will be issued on CD and Vinyl. arguably one of the most intriguing and, by implication, frustrating in the history of rock. As a mini supergroup, with a super-slick FM radio style, they had the potential to fit neatly into the heavy-hitting platinum rock niche occupied by the likes of Fleetwood Mac, the Doobie Brothers and Air Supply. However, despite signing to an American record label and giving birth to two hit singles, their valiant efforts to compete fell short of expectations. It’s therefore surprising to know that the band were actually formed in the UK, by Manfred Mann’s Earth Band and vocalist Chris Thompson (he sang on the #1 single ‘Blinded By The Light’), together with celebrated backing vocalist Stevie Lange (wife of ‘Mutt’ Lange). Indeed, the band were well-known faces on the UK pub and club circuit before being unexpectedly signed up by Planet Records, a US-based label helmed by celebrated producer Richard Perry (Rod Stewart, Carly Simon, Pointer Sisters). The band moved to Los Angeles, and Perry recorded the album over an exhaustive twelve months, enlisting the help of top session players, including Nicky Hopkins, Steve Porcaro and Michael McDonald. The results are pretty spectacular. Musically the sound was very much in vogue with FM radio, featuring strident yet powerful rock tracks and emotive power ballads. It was an album that yielded two American hit singles with ‘If You Remember me’ and the anthemic ‘Hot Summer Nights’. However, despite this chart success, the album failed to perform as well as it might have been expected and it was back to the drawing board for the follow up. 70s/early 80s. Formed in London as a somewhat ad-hoc pub rock band going under the handle of Filthy McNasty, and fronted by two superlative vocalists, Chris Thompson (previously of Manfred Mann’s Earth Band) and Stevie Lange (wife of super producer Robert ‘Mutt’ Lange). They secured a loyal following on the club circuit and were eventually offered a record deal from Planet Records, an American based label affiliated to Warner Bros. Night’s debut album certainly garnered critical and commercial attention, enough in fact to secure two hit singles in the lucrative American market place. Whilst the album stalled sales wise, the future still looked extremely promising and so with enthusiastic support they set about recording the follow-up record, ‘Long Distance’. Whilst the debut had been recorded during an extensive sojourn in Los Angeles, this time around, mainly for financial reasons, they opted to record in London. They also chose to switch producer and enlisted the services of bright young upstart Tim Friese-Green (Touch, Praying Mantis). It was a wise decision, as the album showcased a more strident style, moving away from the previous comparison to Fleetwood Mac, towards more forceful and harder rock laced with tougher guitars and solid hooks, a sound somewhat reminiscence of REO Speedwagon and Survivor. Released in 1980, the album, despite its sound quality and the undeniably good song writing displayed, failed to ignite commercial interest. It also suffered from label politics, with Planet records effectively disowning the band and album, despite some great reviews and encouraging reactions at several American FM radio stations. Hierbei erzählt jeder Song seine eigene Geschichte und die Vielschichtigkeit des Albums liegt nicht zuletzt in den zahlreichen Einflüssen aus Minimal, Dark Wave, Gothic Rock und Post Punk, die DARK SIDE EONS ihren einzigartigen Sound verleihen. Jürgen Spiegel seinerseits ist seit mehr als fünfzehn Jahren treibende rhythmische Kraft und sensibler Klangmaler im
weltweit hochgeschätzten Tingvall Trio, das mittlerweile neben Till Brönner als das „Aushängeschild“ deutscher
Jazzmusik im internationalen Kontext gilt. Jetzt sind sich die beiden in Hamburg beheimateten Musiker in einer
ungewöhnlichen Piano / Schlagzeug – Konstellation für ein Duo – Projekt im Studio begegnet. Poesie trifft auf Dynamik,
Virtuosität auf feine Zwiesprache, Freiheit auf Austausch von Emotionen.

Produktinfo: South London-based heavy rock quintet GREEN LUNG release their debut album, Woodland Rites. The band captured the attention of
the international underground in 2018 with the release of their much acclaimed EP Free the Witch, and spent the year sharing stages
with the likes of Conan, Conjurer and Primitive Man before signing to cult label Kozmik Artifactz.
With the addition of new member John Wright on organ, the band have also expanded their horizons musically, voyaging beyond the
doomy psych of the EP to explore a spectrum of heavy music.
On Let the Devil In they conjure up a blasphemous, arena-baiting hard rock single, while on Templar Dawn they veer into the
cavernous (free)masonry of traditional doom metal. The psyched-out, prog-inflected The Ritual Tree attempts to answer the mystery of
"Who put Bella in the Wych Elm?", while May Queen is an ergot-tinged ballad of failing harvests and human sacrifice.
The overall, irresistible impression is of a young band summoning up the eccentric English spectres of 70s proto-metal, early 80s
NWOBHM and 90s stoner rock and dragging those sounds kicking and screaming into the 21st Century.

Stell dir vor Johnny und BB treffen sich mit Lemmy und Slash in einer schäbigen Spelunke, betrinken sich
und gründen eine Band. Sie nennen sie „Johnny Rocket“. Es ist gitarrengetriebener Rock ’n’ Roll mit der
Rauheit des Punk, dem Gefühl des Blues und der Ehrlichkeit des Country. Über die nächsten zehn Jahre
haben sich Johnny Rocket weiterentwickelt, sind mit der Zeit gegangen, haben aber nie ihre Wurzeln
vergessen. „Come A Little Closer“, der Titel ihres dritten Studioalbums, ist eine Einladung an alle ihre
Leidenschaft zu Kick-Ass Rock ’n’ Roll zu teilen.
Der Sound der Band entwickelte sich weiter und brachte ihr durch ihr Debütalbum „Pain Is Her Game“, das
2008 erschien, große Anerkennung. Unzählige Tage verbrachte man auf den Straßen um Festivals und Bars
in Deutschland, Österreich, der Schweiz, Belgien, Tschechien und Polen zu spielen. Man durfte Bands wie
Mad Sin, The Peacocks oder Turbo A.C.‘s supporten und machte sich somit einen Namen. 2010 legten
Johnny Rocket dann mit ihrem „schwierigen“ zweiten Album „Dance Embargo“ nach, das sich keineswegs
als ein solches Problem herausstellen sollte, da ihre eigene Interpretation von Rock ’n‘ Roll wieder von den
Kritikern gefeiert wurde. Weitere unzählige Kilometer verbrachte man auf den Straßen Europas. Und mithilfe
zahlreicher Fässer Bier erlebte man unvergessliche, schlaflose Nächte. Jetzt 2019 erscheint nun endlich ihr
drittes Studioalbum „Come A Little Closer“. Und ihre Reise geht weiter.
