Dear friends,
An ambitious spirit, clear focus on the future and an urge to manufacture innovative, precision
products - that's how Adept is characterised since inception.
Krishnaji Gadre - a visionary and dynamic entrepreneur - laid the foundation of Adept in early 50s by
indigenously developing laboratory equipments and weather recording instruments. With the rapid
industrialisation and advent of electronics, the technology demands in industries were rapidly
changing. Over the years, we responded to this change by introducing new technologies and
venturing into new business verticals.
In the year 1992, a major breakthrough occurred when a renowned company approached us with its
requirement of developing a Flowmeter. We responded to it with our inherent enthusiasm, conducted
an extensive R&D and successfully developed the first Adept Electromagnetic Flowmeter. When its
performance and accuracy were undoubtedly proved during field trials, we were encouraged to
entrench further in this field.
During the last 2 decades, Adept proved its capability in several fields, and today, we are known for
providing appropriate instrumentation solutions with efficient services to industries such as water,
waste water, chemical, pharmaceutical, paper, cement, mining, mineral & metal, power, oil & gas,
food & beverages and so on.
Our success is attributed to our core competency in meeting most challenging requirements with
highly precise products of the latest technology, and in providing efficient services.
Adept products are manufactured in a well-equipped plant and rigorously tested before despatch.
No wonder, they perform precisely over the years. Our well-equipped service support for repair,
maintenance, calibration and technology upgradation is also an assurance of extended life for your
products while ensuring a lower life-cycle-cost.
The NABL accreditation has given a boost to our quality manufacturing and will authenticate our
calibration capabilities. This will also open the doors of the world markets for Adept.
Welcome to Adept. Our qualified team of engineers and technicians will always ensure that you get
more technology, more reliability, more service and more economy than what you expect from your
usual instrumentation partner.
Sincerely yours,
Managing Director

Electronics Manufacturing
All PCB designing work is carried out in-house, using
advanced softwares. PCB assembly is carried out by a
highly skilled and trained team, which ensures high level of
precision and quality. The PCB assembly section is also
equipped with environment chamber and other custom-
designed test jigs and fixtures to ensure high quality
standards.
5
In-house facilities for machining, fabrication and finishing.
This allows us to ensure faster production and exercise
precise control on manufacturing accuracy. Additionally,
the quality of input material is guaranteed. Achieving
greater synchronisation with other production activities is
also possible, which helps in executing large orders in the
shortest possible time.
Mechanical Manufacturing
Quality at every step Reliability in every aspect
6
All incoming material is thoroughly inspected for physical
accuracy and adherence to specifications. During the
manufacturing process, at every step, a stage inspection
is conducted by expert engineers. The major tests include
heat test, humidity test, insulation test, HV test, hydraulic
pressure test and Phantom load testing. After this, every
assembled product undergoes a rigorous inspection and
testing at the final stage before being despatched.

Electromagnetic Flowmeters are based on Faraday's Law
of Electromagnetic Induction.
In an Electromagnetic Flowmeter, the magnetic field is
generated by a set of coils. As the conductive liquid
passes through the electromagnetic field, an electric
voltage is induced in the liquid, which is directly
proportional to its velocity. This induced voltage is
Working Principle
perpendicular to both the liquid flow direction and the
electromagnetic field direction. The voltage sensed by the
electrodes is further processed by the transmitter to give
standardised output signal or displayed in appropriate
engineering unit.
The flux density of the electromagnetic field in a given
Flowmeter and the distance between the electrodes are
constant. Therefore, the induced voltage is only a function
of liquid velocity.
The induced voltage is not affected by the physical
properties of liquid like temperature, viscosity, pressure,
density and conductivity, as long as conductivity of the
measured liquid is above minimum threshold level. For
reliable measurement, the pipe must be completely full of
liquid.
The electromagnetic field coil assembly is excited by
pulsed DC technique, which eliminates the interfering
noise and provides automatic zero correction.

The Transit Time Flowmeter utilises two transducers that
function as both ultrasonic transmitters and receivers.
The transducers are clamped on the outside of a closed
pipe or inserted in the pipeline by use of isolating ball valve
assembly at a specific distance from each other. Transit
Time Flowmeters measure the time it takes for an
ultrasonic signal transmitted from one sensor, to cross a
pipe and be received by a second sensor. Upstream and
downstream time measurements are compared. With
no flow, the transit time would be equal in both directions.
Working Principle
V = KxDx t
where V : Liquid velocity
K : Constant
D : Distance between the two transducers
t : Difference in time of flight
r
r
With flow, sound will travel faster in the direction of flow
and slower against the flow. The liquid velocity (V) inside
the pipe can be related to the difference in time of flight
(rt) through the following equation:

We provide Flowmeter Calibration
Facility at our works. The facility uses the primary method
of measuring the water flow by gravimetric principle or
comparison method. The facility is designed for
calibration of Flowmeters under controlled and stable flow
conditions. The lab is as per ISO 4185. It has a capacity
from 10 mm up to 450 mm.

Adept Flowmeters in water network with SCADA & GSM - GPRS connectivity
Fresh water is a precious resource. Our industries rely on
it to manufacture life’s luxuries and necessities. Without
water, we wouldn’t exist. But, less than 3% of the world’s
water is fresh.
We need to conserve water and monitor its usage to avoid
losses. Adept understands the problem of metering and
provides solution in the form of AMR (Automatic Meter
Reading) using GSM - GPRS System.
Adept Flowmeters at different locations can be monitored
with central SCADA or readings can be obtained directly
on mobile with the help of GSM or GPRS System. Even
Battery Powered Flowmeters can be supplied with GSM -
GPRS System to understand the consumption of water in
remote locations. Public water utilities or large industries
can have central monitoring of its entire water distribution
network. This will help in understanding and regulating
water usage and plug losses.

Adept has developed SCADA software to retrieve data from Flowmeters installed at remote sites. The software is used to
collect, view and print data. Through the compilation and analysis of such data, it is possible to understand usage pattern
and take corrective measures for optimising usage of precious resources.
