Technical specifications, packaging and transport:

1.1. Maximum format: 260 x 350 mm

1.2. Minimum format: 105 x 170 mm for multi-page inserts 105 x 148 mm for single page inserts

1.3. Minimum weight: multi-page inserts – 10 g, single page A5 – 5 g, single page A4 – 8 g

1.4. Delivery date: Palletized and delivered free of charge 5 days at the earliest and 3 days at the latest before the date of publication (DOP) (Mon-Fri). Last date of registration/cancellation: 3 workdays (Mon– Fri) before DOP.

1.5. Layers: The delivery must be in packages with layers of at least 50 inserts, but layers of 100 inserts are preferred. Smaller layers of 10 inserts cannot be processed.

1.6. Pallets: The inserts must be stacked neatly on stable pallets. Each pallet must be labelled with a pallet card in a clearly visible manner and it must correspond to the deli-very note. The height of the pallets may not exceed 1.40 m. Inserts should be protected from possible damage during transport and from penetration of moisture.

1.7. Accompanying documents: As a general rule, the delivery of inserts must be ac-companied by a correct delivery note, which must contain the following information:

■Name of title and edition of publication for the inserts – Publication date

■Customer placing the insert – Title of insert, motif or keyword

■Total number of delivered inserts - Sender and recipient

■Pallet card and delivery note must correspond

■Number of pallets and amount per pallet

Recommendations on the properties of inserts in case of machine insertion: In order to ensure an error-free placement, please observe the following conditions:

2.1. Single page inserts: For DIN A4 format, the weight of the insert may not be below 8 g/copy. Single pages in A4 format must have a grammage of at least 120 g/m².

2.2. For single pages smaller than A4 format: grammage 180 g/m².

2.3. Multi-page inserts: Inserts with 8 or more pages must have a grammage of at least 80 g/m². Inserts in the potential maximum format should have at least 8 pages. The folding types accordion fold (zig-zag) and gate fold (‚Dutch Door fold‘) cannot be processed. Multi-page inserts with formats larger than DIN A5 (148 x 210 mm) must be folded along the long side. Inserts may not exceed a thickness of 4 mm.

2.4. Bleed: All inserts must have a rectangular bleed in the same format. Inserts may not be interlocked at the cut caused by dull blades.

2.5. Stick-on products: Postcards must be stuck on the inside of the insert. They need to be placed flush with the fold at the top or bottom of the insert.

2.6. Delivery condition: The inserts delivered must ensure immediate processing so that additional manual preparation is not necessary. Inserts that are stuck together due fresh printing ink, that are strongly charged due to electrostatic charge, or that have become damp cannot be processed. Inserts with bent corners or edges, creases or with displaced (round) backs also cannot be processed. Inserts must be stacked loose on pallets.

2.7. Each insert order must be stacked individually or on a separate pallet per date of publication (daily papers only), unmixed with other inserts and accompanied by the bill of delivery. Mixed/collective deliveries stating delivery positions „of which“ cannot be processed.

7. Inserts MEDIENGRUPPE THÜRINGEN

Other information on inserts:

3.1. For the receiving department, processing and preparing the distribution as well as other administrative tasks, we charge a processing fee of € 29.- per order / publication day / motif.

3.2. Placements in particular editions (delivery routes) are possible. Conditions are available upon request. In the event this option is chosen, we cannot guarantee that the desired area will be covered exclusively. In the event inserts are placed in a particular edition, the publisher also reserves the right to postpone placement of the insert; this also applies to insert orders which have already been confirmed in writing.

3.3. Third-party inserts are added to the different sections of the paper (including half-sized publishing objects) according to our technical capabilities. We cannot guarantee that the insert will be placed by itself or that it will not be published together with a competitor’s advertisement. If there are several insert orders for a particular day, the leaflets may be inserted into each other inside the newspaper.

3.4. The order can only be executed if the template has been submitted on time. If inserts are advertising two or more companies, they will be charged as if they were two or more inserts. If inserts contain third-party advertising (ads), an additional fee of 75% will be charged.

3.5. Inserts which give readers the impression that they are a component of the paper because of their format or appearance will not be accepted. Inserts with a format or appearance that gives readers the impression of being a component of the advertising section must be delivered folded to half of the maximum size.

3.6. The publisher distributes the inserts with due care and in line with customary business practises, whereby a tolerance limit of up to 3% is considered customary. The client should report any irregularities detected in the delivery to the publisher within 3 workdays after the distribution date. If the technical specifications are not followed, the delivery does not include a reserve of inserts, or the inserts are in poor condition due to transport or damaged packaging, or if the inserts are stuck together, cut incorrectly or have bent edges, more placement errors will automatically occur. Deliveries of inserts that have been damaged during transport will not be accepted. The publisher does not assume liability for individual inserts which are lost during the distribution process. Entitlement to a reduced price or compensation for damages shall not apply if several inserts are stuck together and added to a newspaper copy.

3.7. Extra allowance for inserts: When determining the size of the print run for the inserts, an extra allowance of 2% should be given.

3.8. Inserts which are delivered as packaged goods are billed € 150.- / delivery for the additional costs incurred by the receiving department. When packages are delivered, each package may not weigh more than10 kg. When packages are deli vered that weigh more than 10 kg per package, the customer will be billed € 250.- for the additional costs incurred.

3.9. If a delivery note is not enclosed, the publisher will not guarantee that the order will be processed properly. A fee of € 49.- will be charged.

3.10. The following fees are charged for deliveries made at deviating times: a) Late delivery: For inserts that are delivered late, the publisher reserves the right to reject the order or to arrange an alternative distribution day. b) Early delivery: A flat rate of € 149.- per booking is charged for inserts that are delivered too early (more than 5 workdays in advance).

3.11. Cancellation fees in the full amount of the order will be due if: a) the order is cancelled after the deadline. b) cancellation of the order is necessary because the inserts are delivered too late.

3.12. If there are any problems of a technical nature, e.g. the size of the inserts is smaller than DIN A4, the publisher reserves the right to postpone distribution – even if the insertion dates have already been confirmed.

3.13. For placement on individual routes, it is not possible to place inserts in newspa-pers for retail sale, nor can it be guaranteed.
