These octopuses inhabit the coral reefs of the Indian and Pacific ocean from Japan to Australia.

Reproduction

The male deposits sperm packets with the hectocotylus under the mantle of the female

The female will deposit only 50 eggs

She will care them until they hatch after six months

The new generation of blue ringed octopus is ready to breed the following year.
