Park Distance Control (PDC)BMW 3 Series, saloon, Coup, Convertible, touring, compact (E36/4, -/2, -/3, -/5)
Only for use within the BMW dealer organisation.Fitting time approx. 3 hours, depending on thecondition of and equipment in the car.Electrical skills are required.
General notesThe fitting method is shown for left-hand drivemodels. For right-hand drive models the fittingwork must be carried out the opposite way roundon some occasions.
If the PIN slots specified in these instructions arealready assigned, bridges, double crimps orparallel connections must be used.
Up to model year 1994, smooth painted bumperguards were fitted in the vehicles. The use ofbumper guards for PDC (textured surface) in therear bumper means that fitting replacement frontbumper guards may also have to be considered tokeep the car's uniform appearance.
Cable installationKeep precisely to the designated cabling routes inthe vehicle to avoid faults.
Under no circumstances should you use"Scotchlock quick connectors" since they maycause faults in the vehicle electrical systems.
Ensure that when you fit the cables in the car theyare not kinked or damages since otherwise faultsmay occur whose later location may require a greatdeal of work. The costs incurred by this work willnot be reimbursed by BMW.
